Suction Feed Spray Guns

-- Steady & Reliable Manufacturer --

What Is a Suction Feed Spray Gun?

A suction-feed spray gun draws fluid from a bottom-mounted cup using the low-pressure zone created by air flowing through the gun body — the same venturi principle used in carburettors and laboratory aspirators. Because the fluid path runs upward against gravity, suction-feed guns typically operate at slightly higher inlet pressures than gravity-feed designs, making them better suited to lower-viscosity materials and high-volume continuous spraying where large cup capacity is advantageous.

Suction-feed guns remain the preferred choice in production environments where a 1-litre or 1.5-litre cup avoids the need for frequent refills — industrial painting lines, large-area primer application, and agricultural equipment coating are common examples. LIS has manufactured suction-feed guns for export markets since the 1980s, and the range covers standard cup sizes from 500 ml to 1.5 litres with interchangeable nozzle sets.

Application

  • Large-Surface Priming: High cup capacity allows uninterrupted spraying across vehicle bonnets, doors, and large industrial panels.
  • Agricultural Equipment Painting: Field machinery requires large volumes of rust-inhibiting primer and topcoat; suction-feed guns handle this efficiently.
  • Industrial Production Lines: Where spray guns run continuously for multiple hours, the large suction cup reduces operator downtime for refills.
  • Stains and Sealers on Wood: Thin-viscosity penetrating stains and sealers flow readily through suction-feed systems at moderate pressure.
  • Training and Demonstration: Many vocational training facilities use suction-feed guns because they clearly illustrate spray gun principles and are easy to set up for students.
  • General Maintenance Painting: Industrial maintenance crews value the large cup capacity for painting structural steelwork, machinery, and plant equipment.
